What is Research and Development Tax Relief?

R & D tax relief was set up by the government in 2000 and since then has provided over £6 billion of benefit to UK Companies to encourage, support and reward innovation.

HMRC created new legislation as an incentive to encourage limited companies that are developing new products and processes or appreciably improving existing products, processes, systems and materials thereby increasing the country's capacity for wealth and creation.

In the Spring Budget of 2017 the Chancellor pledged an additional £4.7 billion for R &D tax relief over the next four years, primarily due to the positive impact the initiative provides for UK companies.

Why choose R and D Reclaims?

R and D Reclaims use a process that is efficient, effective and causes the minimum disruption to your company.

We are specialists in retrospective and current year R & D reporting with industry experts whose sole purpose is to create and file your comprehensive report in a timely manner. To ensure you receive your tax benefit as quickly as possible we aim to complete within six weeks of determining your company’s eligibility
and claim size.

Our Process

We understand that businesses are busy and that time is a valuable
asset and our process aims to take as little of it as possible. The
first step is to arrange for a fact-finding visit from our R & D
specialist to summarise your projects and identify eligible costs.
When these have been identified we will ask you to complete a
Client Instruction Agreement and provide you with a Project
Information Form, which will only be needed to supply further
information on projects discussed and points raised during the
meeting.

We will then prepare and submit the report for HMRC, including
technical reports and breakdowns, and continue to liaise with them
to secure acceptance.
